HISTORY OF MARMARA TEKNOKENT A.Ş
The specification of location and boundaries of TÜBITAK Marmara Research Centre Technological Free Zone MARMARA
TEKNOKENT A.Ş has been determined by the Council of Minister’s decree,numbered 99/13725 and dated 26.11.1999.
According to the same decree TÜBITAK Marmara Research Centre TUBITAK_MRC has been authorised to establish and operate
the free zone. June 2001 The Law of Technology Development Zone was put into force and according to this, TUBITAK-MRC
Technopark was declared as a Technology Development Zone.
Main partners of Marmara Teknokent A.Ş are % 96 TÜBİTAK, % 1 Türkiye Teknoloji Geliştirme Vakfı (TTGV),
% 1 İstanbul Sanayi Odası (İSO), % 1 Adapazarı Ticaret ve Sanayi Odası and % 1 Kocaeli Sanayi Odası are totaly five partners
of MARMARA TEKNOKENT A.Ş. is started activities in date of 10.06.2003.
Companies that involved in TEKGEB can benefit from the advantages provided by the Regulation no 4691 Technology
Development company Marmara Teknokent A.Ş with TÜBİTAK MAM institutes. The founder and operator of development
zone has certain obligations arising from the law & regulations relating to the development zone law and the agreement
it has signed with there nugatory agency.
Quality Policy is;
To become a TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT ZONE model for Turkey by;
- Creating conscioussness for continual improvement in all our personnel,
- Providing resources required for meeting the needs and expectations of our stakeholders and taking into consideration
the laws, rules and regulations involving Technology Development Zones Law numbered 4691.
Objectives;
- Toward the above stated mission, TEKGEB envisages attaining the following objectives:
- Complete its infrastructural and initial base construction development in accordance with established plans.
- Maintain a core of highly trained and motivated staff. Intensify marketing efforts with the outside world while
reinforcing MAM-TEKGEB liaisons.
- Facilitate technology transfer between companies and MAM’s institutes by raising the level of involvement and bilateral cooperation.
- Subscribe all TEKGEB companies to MAM’s Industrial Partnership Program.
Vision;
To become a technological focal point where advanced technologies are turned into an asset and create economic value through R&D.
Location;
5.000.000 sqm natural park and 3.5 km sea side is located within the premises of TÜBITAK MRC’s campus in Gebze. It is at a distance of 45 km to Istanbul and 35 km to the industrial city of Izmit over the TEM motorway, 15 km to the Sabiha Gökçen Airport and 5 km to the Eskihisar ferry landing.

TEKGEB has a 380.000 sqm. area on which building space and plots with complete infrastructure, are offered for rent up to 30 years.
